Mount Kinabalu Trek Itinerary

8 Days & 7 Night itinerary with included meals

Day 1 - Arrival, check in and relax (D)

Pick up from Kota Kinabalu airport, meet your guides, and drive to Pekan Nabalu, for local products, fruits, vegetables and handmade souvenirs. On to Kinabalu Park for pre-climb registration.

Check in Kinabalu Park at 3pm. Dinner will be served at the lodge restaurant.

Day 2 - Mount Kinabalu Ascent (B/L/D)

Breakfast, then check out and gather at Kinabalu Park HQ, collect your packed lunch and meet your guide. Transfer to Timpohon Gate and start the 6 km trek to Panalaban.

Overnight and dinner at Laban Rata’s Resthouse and Restaurant. Get an early night!

Day 3 - Kinabalu Summit and trip to Sandakan (B/L/D)

Early start for a sunrise summit. Food at Laban Rata restaurant and start towards Low’s Peak the 4095m summit of Mount Kinabalu. Experience the glorious sunrise and take the best selfie of your life before descending to Laban Rata for a well earned second breakfast.

Check out and trek down to Timpohon Gate for a shuttle transfer for a late lunch at Liwagu Restaurant.

Day 4 - Sepilok and Kinabatangan River Cruise (B/L/D)

Orangutan sanctuary at Sepilok, where these amazing creatures are rehabilitated and returned to the forest reserve. The sun bear sanctuary is nearby too.

Kinabatangan rainforest reserve, and a river cruise to spot orangutans, macaques, monkeys and birds. Crocodiles and pygmy elephants can also be seen at the water’s edge. Evening in air conditioned huts, with an optional night-time walk in the jungle.

Day 5 - Kinabatangan to Kota Kinabalu (B)

Optional dawn cruise.

8am check out then onto Goomantong limestone caves. Back to Kota Kinabalu by internal flight (included) in the afternoon, and free time to hit the beach, the shops, or just relax.

Day 6 - Kiulu White Water Rafting (B/L)

Pick up from Kota Kinabalu to Kiulu River’s starting point, passing through Kiulu Town. Pass through villages and green rice fields.

Get prepared with a life vest, helmet, and paddle. Safety briefing session before the rafting commences.

Raft 9km of the Kiulu River through tropical rainforest. You can even take a zip line over the river itself. Change into dry clothes, lunch and transfer back to your hotel.

Day 7 - Island Hopping (Manukan & Sapi Island) (B/L)

Hotel pick-up to jetty. Get your life jacket and snorkelling equipment then a 20min speedboat ride to Manukan island. Dive and snorkel this tropical paradise. Optional extra activities available on the island. BBQ buffet lunch then onto Sapi island.

Afternoon of swimming, sunbathing, or snorkelling. Late afternoon boat ride to the mainland and transfer back to your hotel.

Day 8 - Onward Travel (B)

Pick up from hotel and transfer to airport.
